A fire watcher is a position that does not require a license. Employees can begin work after completing only 4 hours of basic construction safety and health training. Additionally, they must complete training to prevent fire and explosion accidents. This training is provided through in-company training in accordance with the Industrial Safety and Health Act, or through regular training provided by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. Fire watchers are stationed at worksites where welding is taking place to inspect for hazards, immediately report any incidents, take preventative measures, and manage safety equipment. Before and after work, they check for embers, familiarize themselves with pre-work procedures, and develop evacuation plans, managing overall site safety. Basic safety training can be booked online or at a nearby training center. For details, please refer to the relevant agency's guidelines.
